This advance tax calculator works out how much tax you must pay in advance during Tax Year 2026-27 and by when. Enter your expected income and TDS, choose a regime, and it estimates your tax, checks the ₹10,000 threshold and splits the balance into the four instalments due on 15 June, 15 September, 15 December and 15 March. It also estimates interest if you pay nothing on time.

What is a Advance Tax Calculator?
Advance tax means paying income tax during the year in which you earn the income, instead of in one go when you file your return. It applies when your tax for the year, after TDS and TCS, is ₹10,000 or more. Salaried people usually don’t need to worry because their employer deducts TDS, but freelancers, business owners, landlords and investors with large capital gains often do.
Advance tax is paid in four instalments: 15% by 15 June, 45% by 15 September, 75% by 15 December and 100% by 15 March. Taxpayers using presumptive taxation for business or profession can pay everything by 15 March. Resident senior citizens without business income are exempt. This advance tax calculator works out each instalment.
How does the Advance Tax Calculator work?
If you enter income, the calculator estimates your tax for Tax Year 2026-27 using the slabs, rebate, surcharge and cess for the regime you choose. It subtracts TDS and TCS, checks the ₹10,000 threshold and applies the cumulative percentages for each due date.
It also gives a rough estimate of interest for paying late (familiar as sections 234B and 234C, each 1% a month) if nothing is paid on time.
