This in hand salary calculator turns your CTC (cost to company) into the amount that actually reaches your bank account each month. It deducts the employer’s PF and gratuity that sit inside CTC, any variable pay, your own PF, professional tax and income tax under the regime you choose, and shows your monthly in-hand salary with a full breakup.

Please note: results are estimates for planning and learning. They are not investment, tax or legal advice. Returns on market-linked products are not guaranteed, and rates set by the government or your bank can change. Check the latest figures with the official source or a SEBI-registered adviser before you decide.

What is a In Hand Salary Calculator?

CTC, or cost to company, is the total amount an employer spends on you in a year. It usually includes your salary, the employer’s PF contribution, gratuity, and sometimes bonuses and insurance. Your in-hand or take-home salary is what remains after deductions such as your own PF contribution, professional tax and income tax.

Because so much of CTC never reaches your bank account each month, offers that look similar can mean very different monthly pay. An in hand salary calculator breaks your CTC down and shows the real monthly figure, which is what matters for rent, EMIs and budgeting.

How does the In Hand Salary Calculator work?

The calculator works out basic pay as a share of CTC, then removes the parts of CTC that are not paid monthly: employer PF (12% of basic, or of ₹15,000 if capped), gratuity (4.81% of basic if included) and variable pay. What remains is your gross fixed salary.

From that it subtracts your own 12% PF, professional tax and income tax under the regime you chose, using the Tax Year 2026-27 slabs and standard deduction.

In-hand = Gross salary − Employee PF − Professional tax − Income taxGross salary = CTC − Employer PF − Gratuity − Variable pay. Gratuity provision = 4.81% of basic (15/26 ÷ 12). Employer and employee PF = 12% of basic or of ₹15,000.

How to use the In Hand Salary Calculator step by step

  1. Enter your annual CTC.
  2. Set basic pay as a percentage of CTC; 40–50% is typical, and the labour codes push it towards 50%.
  3. Choose whether PF is on full basic or the ₹15,000 ceiling.
  4. Say whether gratuity is part of CTC and add any variable pay.
  5. Enter professional tax for your state and choose a tax regime.
  6. Read your monthly in-hand salary and the breakup.
