This net worth calculator adds up everything you own, from bank balances and mutual funds to EPF, gold and property, and subtracts everything you owe, such as home, car and personal loans and credit card dues. The result is your net worth, the single best measure of your financial position. It also shows your liquid net worth and debt-to-asset ratio.

Please note: results are estimates for planning and learning. They are not investment, tax or legal advice. Returns on market-linked products are not guaranteed, and rates set by the government or your bank can change. Check the latest figures with the official source or a SEBI-registered adviser before you decide.

What is a Net Worth Calculator?

Net worth is the value of everything you own minus everything you owe. It is a snapshot of your financial health that income alone cannot show: two people with the same salary can have very different net worths depending on how they save, invest and borrow.

A net worth calculator lists your assets and liabilities in one place. Tracking it once or twice a year shows whether you are moving forward, and the breakdown reveals whether your wealth is too concentrated in one asset, such as a house.

How does the Net Worth Calculator work?

The calculator adds all the asset values you enter and all the loan balances, then subtracts liabilities from assets.

Liquid net worth counts only assets you can turn into cash quickly (bank, FDs, mutual funds and shares) minus short-term debts. The debt-to-asset ratio shows what share of your assets is financed by loans.

Net worth = Total assets − Total liabilitiesDebt-to-asset ratio = Total liabilities ÷ Total assets × 100. Use current market values, not purchase prices.

How to use the Net Worth Calculator step by step

  1. Enter cash and bank balances and FDs.
  2. Enter the current value of mutual funds and shares.
  3. Add EPF, PPF and NPS balances from your statements.
  4. Add gold, property and vehicles at today’s value.
  5. Enter all loans and credit card dues outstanding.
  6. Read your net worth and the breakdown.

Net Worth Calculator FAQs

How do I calculate my net worth?

Add the current value of everything you own and subtract everything you owe. The calculator does this for you.

Should my house be counted in net worth?

Yes, at current market value, minus the home loan. Also look at liquid net worth, which excludes property.

What is a good net worth for my age?

There is no single standard. A common aim is a rising net worth each year and a growing share in investments rather than debt.

How often should I track net worth?

Once or twice a year is enough for most people.

Is a negative net worth bad?

It is common early in a career or just after a home loan. The goal is to make it rise steadily.

Should I include my car?

You can, at its resale value, but remember that vehicles lose value quickly.
